Level 3 Principal Engineer – Database (IBM Guardium)

Experience: 8+ years (yeah, you’ll need some mileage for this one)

Alright, here’s the deal: KBC Technologies is on the hunt for a Level 3 Principal Engineer who basically eats, sleeps, and breathes databases—think Oracle, Couchbase, MariaDB, and, most importantly, IBM Guardium. If you haven’t spent at least five years wrestling with Guardium, this probably isn’t your rodeo. You’ll be smack in the middle of all things database security, making sure everything stays locked down tight and plays nice with the bigger cybersecurity picture.

What you’ll actually be doing (besides drinking a lot of coffee):

– Rolling out and tweaking IBM Guardium for over 200 mission-critical databases. That’s a lot of databases, so hope you like a challenge.
– Plugging Guardium into SIEM systems and getting it to work hand-in-hand with the CSOC team to boost incident response. Basically, making sure everyone’s on the same page when stuff hits the fan.
– Keeping an eye on performance, tuning policies so they’re actually useful, and running reviews with the folks who sign off on things.
– Putting together crystal-clear documentation (no, really—make it readable) and running training sessions so the rest of the team doesn’t get lost.
