Current Assignment
This position will be responsible for providing a wide range of architectural support to the Office of District Architect including but not limited to: review and approval of project specifications and drawings; station and facilities rehabilitation planning, design, budgeting, cost monitoring, and construction management; support of resiliency related projects including grant applications and implementation; support of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), intermodal, and mobility related projects. This position will also be responsible for regional and District wayfinding and signage program and accessibility improvement program. The ideal incumbent prepares and produces architectural design and representation. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and applicable architectural rendering software, including field surveying and documentation is desired.
Application Process
- Performs a variety architectural related duties including preparing and/or reviewing architectural design, cost estimates and analyses, and participating in project and construction management.
- Prepares architectural designs, specifications, costs and quantity estimates for engineering projects; performs architectural rendering, computer simulations and building information modeling.
- Reviews and produces contract documents for improvement contracts.
- Assists in the establishment of schedules and methods for providing architectural design oversight for internal and external projects.
- Monitors work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; evaluates proposed changes to approved plans and specifications.
- Recommends approval of and submits contractor’s progress payment applications; performs audits of contractor and suppliers to ensure adherence to established policies procedures.
- Prepares a variety of reports and correspondence on project matters including field and design engineering changes, and correspondence with the contractor on fulfillment of requirements.
- Prepares progress reports, funding updates, project budget allocations, change order documentation, and work plans.
- Discusses and reviews project design or activities with assigned staff and other affected project personnel, and coordinates with engineering disciplines.
- Maintains awareness of progress on assigned design projects to ensure compliance with designated time and cost schedules.
- Provides assistance to inspectors in the interpretation of plans and resolution of problems during design review.
- Conducts field inspections; ensures compliance with specifications.
