Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manager, Engineering in overseeing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, repair, and safety protocols are followed.
  • Supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and other support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Housekeeping, Front Office, and Food and Beverage, to ensure efficient resolution of maintenance issues and timely completion of guest requests.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure the hotel’s equipment and facilities are operating at optimal levels.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all hotel areas, identifying and addressing maintenance needs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage the department’s budget, control expenses, and participate in the procurement of engineering supplies and equipment.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in hotel engineering management.
  • Assist in preparing reports, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improvements in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and continuous learning among the engineering team.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in hotel engineering or a similar role, preferably within the luxury hotel sector.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety codes and regulations.
  • Experience in managing a team and the ability to motivate, train, and develop employees.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer systems and engineering-related software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required in a pre-opening environment.
