Chartering Manager (Chemical)

Job Location: Dubai

Job Purpose:

Develop and Implement the Chartering plans for transportation of Chemicals. Efficiently execute chartering activities, negotiate contracts (COA and TC) and prices, fleet management, open markets etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Voyage Liaison and Reporting

Efficiently coordinate activities with the Chartering and Voyage Managers regarding the completion of final Term Charter and Voyage Charter and reconciliation statements.

Contract Management

Develop and write the KPI’s of the Contract of Affreightment (COA) and Term Charter contracts relating to the Chartering function to ensure that commitments are met.

Rates and Fleet Utilization

Actively participate in negotiations with customers, owners and service providers to obtain the best charter rates and terms and conditions. Coordinate with Voyage Managers relating to spot charters to ensure that vessels are chartered on correct date, size etc.

Business Development

Identify new opportunities by attending or presenting industry events and conducting customer visits (direct business to business).

Concepts and Policies

Adopt and apply new professional strategies and policies within the area of responsibility in accordance with management directions.

Qualifications and Experience:-

Bachelor Degree in Marine Transportation, Engineering or Business Administration preferred. Minimum of 8 years experience in chartering or relevant areas such as Commercial Shipping/Marine Field is preferred.
