Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, vocational training, or Relevant years of experience
- 3+ years’ experience of relevant connectivity and web-based SCADA, and/or telemetry systems
- Skilled in industry electronics, plc controllers, and familiarity with FCC rules and regulations
- General understanding of TCP/IP networking
- Skilled at communicating with various personnel at multiple levels
- Ability to use analytical tools for researching and translate data into useful reporting
- Power user of Microsoft, SharePoint, and MS Windows based communications tools (Telnet, Putty, etc.)
- Must be available for 24/7/365 support with a sense of urgency
What you will do:
- You could be based anywhere around the world
- Actively assist the Remote Operation Center (ROC) team in New Iberia, LA
- Responsible for telemetry device install, configuration, troubleshooting, and related maintenance
- Provide Aggreko internal staff with technical assistance and maintenance of telemetry equipment as required
- Provide support to end users by troubleshooting technical issues and implementing possible solutions (Cell Booster, Satellite, etc.)
- Travel to locations to investigate and troubleshoot technical issues
- Use test equipment to troubleshoot connectivity issues, set scaling, calibrate telemetry components, etc.
- Test hardware and associated software configuration to ensure proper operations as well as identify and correct deficiencies
- Analyze telemetry software and application modifications to ensure no negative impact before full implementation
- Install, configure, test, and deploy changes and modifications to the Telemetry application
- Administer system security settings and provide training on the various hardware applications
- Research problems, make recommendations and implement system improvements
- Track hardware warranty periods and arrange for warranty service repairs when applicable.
- Prepare installation instructions and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for system users and technical staff.
- Update and maintain the Telemetry system documentation
- Receive feedback from field technicians on service resolution and adjust service guides as necessary
- Comply with safety requirements of the position and actively promote safe work practices
- Exercise good judgment and make appropriate and quick decisions regarding equipment repairs and/or requesting assistance
