Data Entry Operator Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous data entry operator to compile, capture, and maintain our digital database. In this role, you will be responsible for compiling, merging, and formatting documents for data entry, checking for errors, inputting and updating data, and managing digital filing systems.

To succeed as a data entry operator, you should have excellent typing skills and a keen eye for detail. Effective data entry operators can quickly identify data errors and maintain high precision in their work.

Data Entry Operator Responsibilities:

  •  Gather, collate, and prepare documents, materials, and information for data entry.
  •  Conduct research to obtain information for incomplete documents and materials.
  •  Create digital documents from paper or dictation.
  •  Review all documents and information for accuracy, and notify the supervisor of any errors or inconsistencies.
  •  Enter data into digital databases and perform regular backups.
  •  Update and maintain databases, archives, and filing systems.
  •  Monitor and review databases to correct errors or inconsistencies.
  •  Generate and export data reports, spreadsheets, and documents as needed.
  •  Perform clerical duties such as filing, monitoring office supplies, scanning, and printing as required.

Data Entry Operator Requirements:

  •  High school diploma or GED.
  •  1 year of experience as a data entry operator or in a similar role.
  •  Excellent typing skills.
  •  Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  •  Proficiency in data capturing and office management software, including MS Office and Google Suite.
  •  Ability to accurately manage and process large volumes of data.
  •  Good understanding of databases and both digital and paper filing systems.
