Responsibilities

  • Identify potential data sources (data discovery): Data monetization consultants must analyze existing data sets, identify gaps in the data, and assess the relevance of the data.
  • Understand the value of the data: The consultant should work with the organization to understand the value of certain data assets. Understanding the datas value requires analyzing the business value of the data in the organizations industry, including potential use cases and applications, and accessing the markets demand for the data.
  • Assess data privacy: The consultant ensures monetizing the data doesnt breach the privacy guidelines surrounding the datas usage. Its vital also to identify potential risks associated with the data, and classify it as low or high-risk data. Further, strategies surrounding removing sensitive information from datasets should be identified and implemented.
  • Prioritize data sources: Consultants prioritize data sources based on their potential value to a target market. Therefore, the organization can focus on the most promising opportunities by focusing on the low-hanging fruit first while the discovery and analysis of other potential data monetization sources are conducted.
  • Understanding the organizations business model: Data monetization consultants must understand the organizations products and services, including their value propositions and the target market.

  • Adept at using data processing platforms like Hadoop and Apache Spark
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in a Data Strategy, Data Monetization, Data Management and Data Governance.
  • Previous Experience in Data Monetization projects/roles
  • Familiar with change management in the implementation of data strategies and feel comfortable with market trends and technologies related to Data, Analytics, AI or Intelligent Automation.
  • Having certifications in the Data-sphere is a plus (e.g. Certified Data Management professional (CDPM), CIP, CMMI DMM, etc).
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate and understand the opportunities of where A/B testing may be required and analyses the success of tests that have been run
  • Participating in forecasting exercises for senior management
