Description:

It is the City Planner’s responsibility to provide support for several planning initiatives, such as comprehensive and area planning, zoning reviews and changes, flood zone planning, and historical preservation. In the professional planner career series, this job is a component of the role of senior planner.

Requirements:

  • Lead the design and implementation of community and stakeholder engagement programs.
  • To aid in the creation of planning improvement and to change planned goals in accordance with the results of statistical research and comparison analysis.

  • The city’s planner oversees zoning and urban design. This role recommends and implements changes to the city’s zoning plan approval process or urban planning programme (i.e amendments to the plans, site plans, drawings, and reports, etc).
  • Be a part in preparing the Comprehensive Plan’s chapters and modifications and other tasks as given by Director.
  • People who do this job make a lot of different materials and reports for public hearings and other meetings as well as for the board to show them. As part of their job, this person gives presentations and detailed reports on new development proposals to the City Council as well as to other groups, like the Planning Commission, the Architectural Design Review Board, and the public.

Skills:

 

  • It is critical to have a full grasp of the physical, economical, and cultural aspects of a place. Site and urban planning trends must also be kept up to date, as well. Having an understanding of the legal concepts that govern land use, real estate, and development legislation is crucial.
  • Required: a bachelor’s degree or 12 to 18 months of customer interaction and sales experience, with banking experience desirable.
