Our Clinics constantly strive to provide excellent, comfortable patient care delivered efficiently and promptly. The role of the Dental Assistant is essential in enabling this to happen. This is a full-time position, responsible for assisting the dentist(s) and dental hygienist(s) in directly providing primary care dental services to patients of The Dental Studio.

Responsibilities:

• Creating a report with the patient to make them feel comfortable and at ease.
• Assist clients in resolving minor difficulties, answering their questions and giving directions to patients as authorized by the dentist or dental hygienist.
• Serves as dentist’s or dental hygienist’s chair-side assistant.
• Prepares operatory for clients’ treatment as per studio protocols and the dentists’ or dental hygienists’ directions.
• Exposes and develops dental radiographs per the law and The Dental Studio’s directive and protocol.
• Follows all admin requirements per D.H.A. regulations, e.g., sedation, x-ray and log books.
• Performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by the dentist in accordance with law and The Dental Studio’s directive and protocol.
• Maintains The Dental Studio equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s directions and The Dental Studio’s policy and protocol.
• Maintains all The Dental Studio areas in compliance with directives, protocols, and centre policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control, and safety issues.
• Maintains adequate operatory supplies and compiles a list of individual item shortages for inventory control and ordering purposes.

Requirements:

• Assist the dentist/hygienist in all clinical procedures, providing chairside assistance.
• Maintain impeccable hygiene and cross-infection control standards according to the latest guidelines and follow practice procedures and policy.
• Prepare instrument trays for procedures.
• Follow all practice procedures and protocols to maintain patient confidentiality and, at the end of the day, ensure the surgery management is adhered to in line with clinic procedures and policy.
