Movement labs is hiring for the role of Deputy Organizing Director for the 2024 cycle. This role is a mission critical position for our Political Innovation Incubator. This role will be responsible for helping ideate, execute and scale multiple pilot projects to net votes across the seven battleground states for Harris.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Volunteer & Staff Management
- Assist Organizing Director in hiring and managing a team of organizing staff to support projects as needed
- Recruit & manage volunteers to assist in pilot projects
- Develop and lead training sessions for support staff and volunteers
- Organizing Program Management
- Work with the Organizing Director to develop and implement organizing pilot programs: including vetting ideas and own day to day management of projects in the field.
- Closely track key program deadlines and deliverables of projects in the field
- Other Duties as assigned
Requirement:
- At least a cycle of organizing leadership experience at a progressive organization or campaign.
- Expansive experience organizing across different communities and geographies in an electoral and issue advocacy context.
- Experience managing volunteer relationships and cultivating volunteer leaders, especially virtually. Experience managing and coaching volunteers, interns and fellows.
- Eagerness and excitement to empower, coordinate, collaborate and troubleshoot with direct reports, lateral staff, and manage upwards.
- Tech-savvy and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Is flexible.
- Able to adapt to unexpected changes and last-minute adjustments.
- Strong proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, our core tech tools: Airtable, Asana, Slack, Google Workspace.
- Well organized, detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple competing priorities in a remote work setting
- Passionate about Movement Labs which aims to fight fascism and defeat Donald Trump
