Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Development – Spearhead appropriate prospecting activities to identify qualified prospects to build long-term business partnerships. Leverage existing contacts and relationships in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry and identify new customers to introduce the CDMO services and capabilities. Conduct effective presentations, follow-up emails and calls to engage potential customers. Negotiate proposals and close new business opportunities.
  • Account Management – Act as a client manager for the CDMO business, by performing the following actions: overseeing long term road map of the client’s projects, attend regular meetings to update and maintain project objectives, schedules, budgets and quality assurance processes while controlling scope, time, cost, quality and risk. Develop a dashboard to track activities and progress.
  • Marketing – Identify and expand company brand and awareness. Plan tradeshows and contribute to the elaboration of marketing materials, including brochures and booth design. Perform competitive intelligence on competing firms and technologies.
  • Teamwork – Work with R&D, Operations, QA, Regulatory, Finance, Legal and Project Management. Establish effective relationships with internal associates and external clients to timely address clients’ questions; help prepare proposals and ensure contractual requirements.
  • Communication – Collaborate with appropriate internal resources to develop tailored presentations to clients. Present key factors and strategic recommendations to assist internal stakeholders in identifying solutions with services offering and contractual obligations.
  • Ethics – Operate with the highest professional business ethics when dealing with clients and colleagues.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent experience required. A degree in Finance or Business Administration is an asset.
  • Fast learner: Ability to understand scientific and business concepts to promote IntelGenx’s technologies, sell IntelGenx’s services, and make judgments about external and internal business issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent people skills are needed to succeed in this role.
  • Proven record of delivering high-quality presentations and/or business proposals/contracts.
  • Business Acumen: A broad understanding of drug development and the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • 5+ years proven business development, sales, or client support management in the pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
