Responsibilities include:

• Must be able to diagnose and treat patients quickly and accurately. They must be able to handle a wide range of medical emergencies, including trauma, heart attacks, strokes, and respiratory distress.

• Provide immediate medical care and treatment to stabilize a patient’s condition, prevent further deterioration, and manage any complications that may arise. They may also perform emergency procedures, such as intubation, defibrillation, and chest tube placement.

• Take the patient’s medical history and perform a physical examination to assess the patient’s condition and determine the appropriate course of treatment.

• Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, paramedics, and specialists, to ensure the patient receives the best possible care.

• Keep accurate records of the patient’s condition, treatment, and progress, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed for legal and medical purposes.

• Communicate with patients and their families, explaining the diagnosis and treatment plan, and providing emotional support as needed.

• Manage the emergency department and coordinate patient care with other departments and healthcare facilities.
