English Teacher – Middle and High School | Jobs In Dubai

So, here’s the deal—Ras Al Khaimah American Academy is on the hunt for an English teacher with some real fire. If you get a kick out of helping teens figure out the difference between a metaphor and a simile (and maybe, just maybe, enjoy their drama), this gig might just have your name on it. We’re talking about someone who actually likes the chaos of a classroom, can handle a wild variety of students, and isn’t afraid to try new stuff to make sure the kids actually *get* it.

About Us (aka Why You’ll Want to Work Here)

We’re not just about grades and test scores, you know? Sure, we want the kids to crush their exams, but character matters here. Our school’s got this American-style curriculum thing going on, but we mix it up with a focus on turning these students into halfway decent humans. Teachers get the freedom to shake things up—new ideas are totally welcome, and you won’t be stuck in some boring, cookie-cutter classroom.

What You’ll Actually Do (a.k.a. The Nitty-Gritty)

– Teach English (yep, both Language & Lit) to middle and high schoolers
– Come up with lesson plans that don’t make kids want to crawl under their desks
– Build a classroom vibe where students can grow—academically and as people
– Figure out if they’re actually learning anything and give feedback without sounding like a robot
– Mix up your teaching methods because, let’s be real, they don’t all learn the same way
– Work with other teachers to dream up cool, cross-subject projects
– Help kids prep for those dreaded standardized tests (sorry)
– Show up for parent meetings, school events, and the occasional staff shenanigan

Requirement:

– Some kind of legit teaching license or certificate
– At least 2 years wrangling middle or high schoolers in a classroom
– Know your way around the American curriculum
– Can actually keep a classroom under control and manage your own chaos, too
– Speak and write English so well that even your grandma would be impressed
– Actually enjoy being around teenagers (seriously)
– Not afraid of tech, and willing to use it in class
