Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the shipment and receipt of all goods by tracking delivery, verifying shipment contents and updating inventory as required.
  • Maintain inventory system by recording information upon receipt of goods or disbursement of supplies and advising appropriate
  • personnel when reorder points are reached; verifies inventory levels by performing physical inventory counts as required; places designated purchase orders;
  • contacts external suppliers by telephone, letter, and email to investigate a variety of matters, such as outstanding or backordered items and damaged goods;
  • traces duplicate shipments and organizes invoice adjustments and credits notes with suppliers as required; returns outdated and/or deleted stock to vendors as directed.
  • Provide work direction to others to ensure goods/supplies are received by the appropriate area/department.
  • Receive, unpack and check incoming materials from suppliers, ensure that goods are delivered as per specifications and complete related paperwork such as signing delivery slips.
  • Check invoices against orders and goods/supplies received, and resolves discrepancies with suppliers and/or departments.
  • Assemble, issues, deliver and ship goods/supplies from requisition requests received and records for charging to appropriate area.
  • Identify and return damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers; arrange for delivery and return of loan and return items; complete appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare a variety of reports such as allocation of supplies to departments, stock status reports and back orders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12 plus two years’ recent, related experience,
  • with six months receiving experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 vehicle license if applicable.
  • Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
