You Will Be Responsible For

  • corporation and associated undertakings meetings, including facilitation of timely circulation of agenda and papers,
  • To attend meetings, including evening meetings and clerk as appropriate under the guidance of the Director of Governance.
  • To prepare and proof-read minutes of meetings of the Corporation, subsidiaries and associated undertakings as required for approval by the Director of Governance, relevant Executive leads, Chair and Principal as appropriate.
  • To build effective relationships with all points of contact – both internal and external to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of governance across The Bedford College Group.
  • To develop and maintain the Governance section on the staff Intranet and College website.
  • To assist with the transfer to e-Governance project as appropriate and assist with maintenance of the Governor portal and other agreed electronic.
  • To carry out research, provide information and write reports as required for governance and compliance under the supervision of the Director of Governance .
  • Overseeing all aspects of compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identifying current/potential compliance issues and ensuring these are appropriately escalated so that appropriate remedial actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing and updating compliance policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments, analysing their business impact and updating policies and procedures to reflect these in collaboration with team members.
  • Conducting training on compliance matters to raise compliance awareness across the organisation.
  • Providing compliance advice to the business to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for any correspondence with regulatory authorities.
  • Advising the business on any changes /updates on requirements from regulatory bodies.

Skill Required

  • You have at least 1 year experience within a Compliance or Regulatory Compliance role, ideally within the the Financial Services Industry industry.
  • You possess excellent communication and business partnering skills and can collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable dealing with numerical data
  • You pay strong attention to detail and deliver work that is of a high standard
  • You are highly goal driven and work well in fast paced environments
