The Gig

So what are you actually doing? In layman’s terms, you’ll be the person who gets all the IT bits and pieces bundled together, tested, tweaked to the client’s liking, and delivered in one piece. You will be the one who manages anything from physical and virtual network setups (LAN/WAN), to Windows Server, that also includes all the fun aspects of virtualisation (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V etc.) and database raisers of type SQL and ORACLE.

You’ll be the one making sure everything’s not just running, but running right—according to the specs, client demands, and probably a few last-minute “emergencies” because, well, that’s just how projects go.

Experience: Solid 4-7 years (so, you should definitely know what you’re doing by now)

What You’ll Actually Do

– Set up and configure IT systems (networks, servers, virtual machines, databases—the whole lot)
– Test, poke, prod, and troubleshoot across different tech platforms till they behave
– Validate everything so it doesn’t blow up in the client’s face
– Write clear docs so no one’s left guessing what you did
– Work with the rest of the team and clients to keep stuff on track and on time
– Stick around for handover and maybe even some training, if that’s needed

What We’re After

– 4–7 years getting your hands dirty in commissioning, integration, or deploying IT infrastructure
– Cisco CCNP (seriously, don’t even bother applying if you don’t have this)
– Extra points for Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMWare VCP, CompTIA Server+/Network+
– Able to troubleshoot like a pro, especially when it’s not all from the same vendor (because, let’s be honest, it never is)
– Can actually write and talk like a human, not a robot
– Down to relocate or already chilling in Qatar
