What You’ll Do

• The Lead Data Engineer (Internally titled DE-III) will be an integral part of our Tech teams, working as part of either the Product squads or the Data squad.
• People: Chapter lead for the other data engineers from the same tribe. Leading Data Engineer I and Data Engineer II from the same tribe for 30% of the time. This involves people management, coaching, regular 1:1s, and reviewing their OKRs, road maps, backlogs, and sprint tasks.
• Individual Contributor: For the remaining 70% of the time, this role is an individual contributor performing the below activities
• Build ETL solutions for Real-Time Data processing or Batch Processing with different platforms and technologies.
• Monitoring Data Warehouse/Data Lake to align with best practices both to be reliable and quickly accessible but also cost-effective.
• Design the programmatic solution and translate it into a code that works in Gitlab CI/CD, Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Integrate all of the interactions with Kitopi customers in order to build a comprehensive view for personalization and a better user experience. This will include Master Data Management techniques that will lead to the customer master and customer 360.
• Data Horizon: help identify the new sources of data from your squad developments and work closely with the data analyst to orchestrate the data to the database, which can be used by other analysts or scientists.
• Partnership: Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and unlock opportunities, and with other data teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, data visualization, and data architecture.
• Governance: incorporate and help shape company-wide data governance policies.
• Maintain and monitor the data pipelines within the data products that you will build.

What Are We Looking For?

• Relevant experience in the past for at least 8 years
• Experience leading small teams of up to 3 data engineers
• Should have at least a bachelors degree in computers or engineering
• Should have working proficiency in SQL, Python,
• Should have working proficiency in building ETL pipelines
• Should have experience managing Data Warehouse
• Practical knowledge of a platform orchestrating processes (eg. Airflow)
• Knowledge of Software engineering methodologies: eg. Unit Testing, CI/CD
• Should have the capability to work independently with very minimal supervision
• Possess critical thinking, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and effective presentation skills
• Should be a good team player with inclusiveness and constructive thinking
