Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field. Master’s degree and/or professional accreditation preferred (APR or ABC)
  • Minimum five years of progressive communications leadership experience in a large healthcare or unionized environment
  • At least five years of experience developing and implementing measurable and engaging communications strategies for internal and external stakeholders, including strategies that support change processes
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders and managers on communications matters
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex communications issues, leading projects and planning special events
  • Demonstrated experience with media relations, social and digital media
  • Advanced writing and editing skills and a natural talent for translating complex information into clear and compelling communication materials
  • Strong project management skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Effective budget management
  • Strong proficiency with computer programs such as Internet, Email, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) required. Experience with graphic design and/or desktop publishing
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship building skills, and the ability to work in a respectful, cooperative team environment
  • Effective time management, organization skills; service focused, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight timelines
