Description:

Our company is searching for a dynamic Forester with a proven track record of success in the field. When it comes to all of the activities that take place in the industrial forest, the Forester serves as the Senior Resource Forester’s primary point of contact. Employees on the Forester’s team will work together to ensure that the company’s natural resources meet or surpass its yearly targets.

Requirements:

  • Stormwater, zoning, and transportation site plan review staff work together to make sure that other codes don’t conflict with the tree and landscape code.
  • Review factors and grant or deny applications; notifies applicants in writing of reasons for denial. Assign and participate in site clearing inspections to ensure that plans submitted are compliant with municipal codes and ordinances. Coordinate with lower level inspectors regarding site inspections to ensure that information contained in submitted plans is correct.
  • Execution of regional silviculture strategy and annual plan, field-verification of silviculture candidates and provision of setting specific recon information to management, silviculture contract negotiation, silviculture operation supervision and timely status updates for system activity updates are all responsibilities of the silviculture coordinator.
  • Assist in the development of forest stewardship plans for the county’s holdings, which will help them better manage their forestland in the future. We collect and analyze field data as part of our work. These things aid in our understanding of the forest’s construction. Work with your employees and contractors to make the FLAT a reality. Keep an eye on all of the new forestland that you’ve acquired or been given access to lately.
  • In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing forest management and harvest monitoring on company- or privately-owned land.
  • Conducting early- and mid-rotation responsibilities for the forestry department as well as any additional activities that may be allocated.
  • Verifies, establishes, and inventories the annual thin and harvest schedule, as well as road design and access rights of way, and any other tasks that may be required in connection with the sale and administration of the crop.

Skills:

 

  • From a recognized college or university, six months of experience in landscape design and six months of experience in tree and landscape inspections are required of all candidates for the position of landscape designer.
  • Perform work outside requiring a degree of physical endurance; train personnel in tree and landscaping inspections; establish and maintain effective tree and landscaping inspection programs; conduct inspections and make diagnoses of pathological plant conditions. Ascertain the reparability of diseased or physically damaged trees. Review landscaping plans and draw sound conclusions regarding their acceptance or rejection. Enforce codes, ordinances, and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially.
  • The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with other workers, departments, and members of the general public is required.
  • Having good computer skills and being able to speak and write well are important for this job.
  • All parts of tree care, from planting to pruning to disease inspection and disease eradication, need extensive knowledge. A good knowledge of the different tree maintenance techniques is also required.
