What You’ll Actually Do:

– Build and babysit Big Data infra (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, HBase, all that jazz)
– Be the boss—mentor your crew, but also roll up your sleeves and get messy
– Sketch out slick high-speed data pipelines and dimensional models
– Team up with BI folks so dashboards don’t suck and reports actually make sense
– Play with streaming tech: Spark Streaming, Storm—whatever keeps the data moving
– Squeeze every ounce of speed out of SQL and MapReduce jobs (‘cause slow queries are a crime)
– Talk to stakeholders, juggle priorities, and make sure projects don’t go off the rails

What You Bring:

– A decade (or more) in the Big Data trenches
– Deep chops with Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, and NoSQL stuff like Cassandra—bonus points if you can school us on all of ‘em
– Real coding skills: Java, Python, Scala, you name it
– You’ve led teams, delivered projects, wrangled vendors—been there, done that
