Description:

Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Senior Manager, Airports Standards, Performance and Compliance to join our growing and ever-changing organization. The Senior Manager, Airports Standards, Performance, and Compliance, is responsible for leading a dynamic team driven to make continual improvements that drive compliance and efficiency in the airport environment across Flair’s network. While providing the team with direction, the candidate in this role will also be responsible for developing the department’s growth strategy and plans that align with the overall department and company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Management – Recruitment and selection of team members, management of team priorities and projects, delegation of duties, and performance management. Oversight and development of team members skills to drive for excellence.
  • Process and Policy – Responsible for the department Quality Control team members, program, development and compliance. Leading the Quality Control and Compliance Coordinators to develop QC tracking systems, checklists and metrics. Working closely with operational teams (internal and 3rd party) to ensure compliance with standards and processes, identify trends and provide input to resolution plans.
  • Analytics and Operational Performance Data – Provide leadership and direction to the airport analytics team with a focus on developing smart solutions (e.g. automated reports and dashboards) designed to drive performance improvement, and also using data to support initiatives in other working groups. Be a key leader in the development of the data warehouse of operational performance data. Maintaining an understanding of the operation and systems used to look for key data extraction points.
  • Drive operational performance – Using data to compile and provide recommendations to training team, assist with initial stages of new project or initiatives. Providing regular updates to the department and stakeholders on the department’s performance and trends.
  • Safety Management System – Through work with and leadership of the Quality Control Team, provide support with safety investigations and communications with 3rd suppliers to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
  • Liaise with 3rd part to ensure compliance with and oversight of processes – Work closely with 3rd party providers to improve their performance and oversight through the shared information between systems, aligning checklist and QC systems and information sharing, providing trend information to providers to reflect and self-improve.
  • System improvement – Improve customer service procedures by aligning the department roadmap with the overall Airports Department and the company. Review and implement new systems and applications to be used by the team in the course of their duties

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and related experience will be considered;
  • Five to ten years of airline operational management experience required;
  • Experience in writing policy and processes or managing policy and process writing teams.
  • Experience in documents and records management in a regulated environment is considered an asset.
  • Must be available for frequent travel with minimal notice
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Commercial Air Service Standards (CASS), Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR) and other regulations pertaining to aviation
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references;
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite; particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel;
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
