ABOUT THE JOB
Job Description:
We are looking for a self-starter, detail-oriented, and organized individual to join our team in Glendale, CA as a Staff Accountant. This person is responsible for providing support to the Accounting Department in performing accounting procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or a minimum of one year accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Follow directions thoroughly and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Experience with accounting software, a plus, but not required.
- Certificates in Accounting preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting and bookkeeping functions for clients in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Perform certain stages of the accounting work including bookkeeping, bill paying, accounts receivable, and reporting.
- Assist in the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department.
- Maintain accurate records of time and expenses to ensure proper client billing.
- Maintain awareness and understanding of developments in accounting field and in client industries.
- Assist in special projects as needed that falls within the scope of capabilities.
