Job Key Details:
- Administer and maintain the organization’s computer systems including servers, networks as well as associated hardware and software
- Install, configure and upgrade operating systems as well as software applications
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software and access controls, to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the company data
- Conduct regular system backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to minimize the risk of data loss
- Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement IT policies and procedures
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking and system issues when they arise
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving network connectivity problems and assisting with the setup and configuration of computer systems
- Monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely
- Conduct research and evaluate new hardware as well as software solutions to meet the organization’s evolving needs
- Ensure data is stored securely and backed up regularly
- Configure and maintain the networked computer system
Job Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role required
- Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and VPN technologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team
