What will you be doing at Atrium?
In this role, you will join the best and brightest in the industry to skillfully push the boundaries of what’s possible by uncovering predictive insights. You will work with customers to make smarter decisions through innovative problem-solving using AI, Analytics, and systems of intelligence. You will partner to advise, implement, and optimize solutions through industry expertise, leading cloud platforms, and data science.
The Tableau Architect will provide recommendations to customers in relation to Tableau server architecture, server administration, server implementation & configuration, Tableau performance management, server maintenance and cloud migrations. This role includes tasks like working with both the IT and Business owners of Tableau to support the scalable deployment of their Tableau environment. They would also design the set-up and security of the Tableau deployment and dashboards made using Tableau software. The Architect will work independently with the client to understand the requirements, suggest solutions, analyze performance issues, and recommend optimization for better performance.
Apart from being an advisor in technical Tableau server architecture and administration, the architect should be able to understand the business requirements of the client and implement best-in-class visual analytics for customers.
In this role, you will:
- Guide customers on Tableau Server Architecture and Administration best practices
- Guide customers through the planning and execution of Tableau migrations, including but not limited to, Server to Server migrations and On-Premise to Cloud Migrations
- Optimize performance in Tableau server environments, including optimizing user queries and dashboard performance, building scalable architectures, and developing efficient data sources
- Support customers to plan, implement, configure, and deploy Tableau server environments both on-premise and in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Support customers in advanced Tableau server administration in both Linux and Windows environments
- Support customers in implementing authentication for their server environment, including SSO and advanced permissioning
- Lead customer is detailed server health checks of their server environment, including architecture, site governance, authentication, and performance
- Lead customers in planning and executing Tableau Server upgrades
- Know how to leverage Advanced Management and other server monitoring tools/application logs to identify the root cause of Tableau server issues to be resolved
- Leverage Tableau APIs and extensibility, specifically with embedded use cases, rest API functionality, and custom data connections
- Help customers implement Tableau Data Management Add-On On leveraging data engineering principles and best practices
- Design impactful, attractive, compelling solutions using Tableau and associated platforms. Assist in the design of data transformation processes, including dataflows and datasets, as well as create dashboard wireframes and stories describing their function. Understand the impact of existing system architecture, dataflows, and network constraints and how it impacts solution delivery. Conduct research and make recommendations on specific product components, services, protocols, and standards in support of design efforts as needed
- Prepare data for visualization (e.g., data profiling, data cleansing, volume assessment, and partitioning, modeling data, etc.)
- Have Knowledge of dashboard visualization development best practices
- Gather, and translate end-user requirements into effective, efficient dashboards
- Be working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and Agile development lifecycle
- Use proven knowledge of working with various Tableau Desktop functionalities (Filters, Hierarchies, Sorting, Sets, Parameters, Custom Groups, Creating Stories, Mapping, Custom Geocoding, etc.
- Lead projects using advanced calculations using Tableau Desktop (Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Table, LOD Expressions
- Work with relational data sources (like Oracle / SQL Server) and flat files. Good experience with cloud-based data sources (e.g., Salesforce, Google, Azure). Some experience and ability to learn how to work with unstructured data sources (e.g., Hadoop)
- Experience estimating work and breaking down implementations into tangible modules
- Deliver engagements related to embedded analytics (i.e., embedding visual data analytics in other transactional and operational systems or portals)
- Assist in Pre-sales and Sales cycles on the aforementioned functions
In this role, you will have:
- 8-10 years experience in information technology and at least 5 years in business intelligence with a strong focus on Tableau server architecture and administration within the past 3 years
- Must have extensive experience with business requirements analysis, functional specification, and system implementation. Translate business requirements/needs to successful solutions
- It is expected that the person filling this role will be able to contribute directly on projects in addition to their management role
- Experience working with Data Visualization tools especially Tableau (mandatory)
- Have exposure to at least 1-2 additional BI Tools outside of Tableau is a plus
- Proven experience mentoring and training resources
- Demonstrable experience learning new technologies
- Proven experience working directly with client management across time zones
- Proven experience managing a team of 3 or more delivery resources
- Showcase a process-oriented approach to streamline delivery
- Strong analytical skills with a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translating those into technology and operational requirements
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Enthusiastic, professional and confident team player with a strong focus on customer success who can present effectively even under adverse conditions
