Job Description

We are looking for a highly driven and capable Associate Editor to join our dynamic team. The individual who fills this role will help with all parts of an interesting first-grade classroom magazine. The Associate Editor will propose article ideas, contribute to the writing of many of those tales, and assist in the development of lessons and activities for first graders. Additionally, this individual will undertake any necessary administrative activities.

Requirements:

  • Monitor and prioritize the yearly goals for journal submission, publication, and transfer volume targets, in addition to target turnaround times targets.
  • In the beginning, make sure advertisements meet internal brand standards and regulatory requirements. Then look at a wide range of marketing, scientific, and other evidence that backs up ads.
  • Monitoring and controlling departmental systems and procedures on a regular basis in order to generate and implement new ideas that will enhance our operations.
  • Achieve a high level of engagement from Editors in Chief (EIC) and Editorial Board Members (EBM).
  • Interviews with chefs or home cooks, product or method recommendations, and other service-oriented content for periodicals.
  • Develop strong collaborative ties with colleagues in production, JEO, IT, and other departments to guarantee that any issues with your journal, most notably those faced by authors, editors, and peer reviewers, can be remedied quickly and efficiently.
  • providing approved sources, information about the author’s background, formatting rules, and deadlines.
  • Imagining how recipes and tales may appear across all editorial sides of the business, as well as brainstorming and proposing ideas for all platforms (digital, print, social, podcast, video, etc)
  • Provide well-written and well-spoken observations, as well as practical, constructive recommendations, in response to information that may be unsuitable for broadcast. This may involve excessive violence or explicit language, imitable conduct, commercial product placement, or other images that are not suitable for broadcast.
  • To guarantee that all departments are on the same page when it comes to content production, collaborate with other departments.

Skills:

 

  • Experience in journalism or writing for at least three to five years is required, as as some knowledge with SEO and newsletter planning.
  • It is important to have interpersonal skills and the capacity to deal with people at all levels on a daily basis.
  • Capacity to work well with various departments (Art, Photography, and the Test Kitchen) as well as with freelancers and other contributors at all levels of the brand
  • Having the ability to manage multiple priorities and a lot of time-sensitive tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is important.
