Job Position – Nursery Teacher job at The Royal British Nursery
Company Name – The Royal British Nursery
So, here’s how it goes at The Royal British Nursery—we roll with the Early Years Foundation Stage thing (yep, straight outta the British National curriculum playbook). The real deal? We’re all about giving kids a crazy-wide mix of stuff to learn, not just the basics. The goal isn’t just to check boxes or teach ABCs; it’s to make sure these little legends actually get a solid grip on life skills and knowledge. That way, whatever they do later on, they’ve got some proper roots, not just a pile of worksheets.
Core Responsibilities:
– Whipping up visual aids and teaching tools that actually grab attention, not just gather dust.
– Keeping learning stuff organized—sometimes that’s just shoving things in the right box, other times it’s getting creative with whatever random resources are lying around.
– Sparking curiosity in kids and helping them pick up new stuff (sometimes in ways you wouldn’t expect).
– Actually getting kids hyped about learning is wild—half the time, they latch onto the weirdest stuff (seriously, worms? I mean, I guess they’re kinda cool).
– Working side by side with TAs, nursery nurses, or whoever happens to walk in that day. No one’s above finger paints or playground duty—it’s straight-up teamwork, rain or shine.
– Watching the little ones, jotting down whatever pops up, making notes about their progress (and yeah, sometimes you’re just making sure Timmy keeps the Legos outta his nose—priorities, right?).
– Sitting through training sessions (good snacks are a plus), trying to actually learn something new.
– Passing on useful tips and tricks to other teachers and parents—because everyone needs a little help sometimes.
– Being the go-to support person for kids, making sure they feel safe and comfy enough to actually learn.
– Hyping up kids’ natural urge to learn by letting them dive in, get messy, and figure stuff out through real experience. – Keeping an eagle eye on health and safety, whether we’re finger painting inside or running wild outside.
– Trying to keep up with all the new curriculum changes and whatever new “best practice” is trending this month.
– Helping kids build up their social skills and language—sometimes that just means letting them babble away
. – Supporting the basics: movement, talking, learning to communicate (sometimes mostly hand gestures).
– Getting kids into math and creative stuff—think stories, silly songs, games, doodling, and all that wild play that somehow teaches them things without them realizing it.
Qualifications:
So, here’s the deal: you’ll need a university degree in either Early Childhood or Education—or honestly, if you majored in something else, that’s cool too, as long as you’ve got a legit, certified vocational certificate (level III, don’t skimp) specifically in early childhood care and education. Oh, and being a native English speaker? Big plus. They really like that.
