Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and driving a culture of safety and excellence within the department.

Responsibilities:

Lead and motivate a team of engineers and technicians responsible for the maintenance and repair of production equipment.

Delegate tasks effectively, provide coaching and development opportunities, and ensure team members are meeting performance goals. Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious working environment.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of production equipment, collaborating with external vendors if necessary.Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and associated costs.

Manage capital projects for new equipment installations or facility upgrades, ensuring completion within budget and on time.

Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and plant optimization. Proactively manage project risks and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and company safety protocols.

Investigate and address safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to food manufacturing safety.

Develop and manage the engineering department’s budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.

Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for equipment reliability, production efficiency, and safety. Report regularly to senior management on department performance and progress on key initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) required.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a food manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of successfully leading and motivating engineering teams.
Strong understanding of maintenance principles, preventive maintenance programs, and root cause analysis.
Experience with project management methodologies and successful project delivery.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
