Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of communication plans in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of Loyola.
  • Write, edit, layout, translate and post information, executive messages, and stories to various media, for example, websites, e-newsletters, e-broadcasts, and social media.
  • Work closely with the Senior Marketing and Communications Officer and Executive Director of Advancement on stories and requests, identifying in-house experts, and developing key messages and story pitches.
  • Support key events and collaborate with the Senior Community and Events Officer to ensure Loyola events are well communicated and attended.
  • Support communication/outreach campaigns and materials including, for example, promotional copy, presentations, photos, video clips, web, and social media.
  • Manage the school’s online presence including website, social media, and connected online visibility platforms.
  • Support the needs of the advancement team and the school in drafting engagement material such as solicitation letters, thank you letters, event invitations, public statements, and speaking notes.
  • Maintain client relationships through school CMS.

Job Requirements:

  • Related post-secondary education or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality communication materials on a range of topics, with emphasis on outstanding writing and editing skills.
  • Experience developing graphic, photographic, and video content would be considered a major asset.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites (e.g., Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and other design programs is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, priority-setting, problem-solving, and listening.
  • Familiarity with Loyola’s Jesuit, Catholic mission and with the secondary school environment in Quebec is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written is required.
