Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Contracts- Structure, draft and review all contracts and other legal documents
- Evaluate new business partnerships with external stakeholders
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, if need be
- Design and oversee the company’ s policy and position on legal matters.
- Protect the company against legal risks and violations.
- Negotiate deals on behalf of the company.
- Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
- Working knowledge of international corporate laws and mining industrial and labour laws (particularly South Africa) is desired.
- Negotiate engagement, maintain and strengthen on-going relationships with legal advisors/counsel, and build new relationships, through constant communication
- Obtain and manage credit terms and arrange for timely set-up of legal advisors’ files, through execution of relevant documents provided by the counterparty
- Proactively learn about new laws/regulations or changes to existing laws and regulations, and receive regular updates in this regard by engaging with various service providers
